Species Records

Over the years that I have been birdwatching I have attempted to keep some records of the birds that I have seen in the local area, Lancashire, other areas of the UK and beyond. I have also been keeping a photographic record of birds and other kinds of animals and plants that I have been fortunate to see in my travels. Hopefully in time that photographic record will appear in my sites’ Photo Gallery.

Becoming a member of the Chorley & District Natural History Society and more particularly partaking in the annual Year List Challenge has put a competitive edge to my birdwatching and has spurred me on to seek out as many bird species as I can within the local area over the last few years.

Often this has led me to stay in my local area more than visiting sites out of the local area, but the appearance of ‘lifers’ within Lancashire does draw me to farther distant venues occasionally when time permits.
